Ayah Galal is an aspiring news reporter and anchor. She currently works as a news producer at WTNH News 8, the ABC affiliate in New Haven, Connecticut. As a producer, Ayah oversees writing, production and timing of newscasts. Most of her experience is in producing the 6 p.m., 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts for News 8.
Ayah graduated from Quinnipiac University, where she double majored in journalism and political science. Her reporting and video storytelling have been recognized by the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists and Pinnacle College Media Award. Ayah also received the Alumni Association Academic Achievement Award for attaining the highest scholastic standing in her class.
During her time at Qunnipiac, she served as the News Director for Q30 Television, the university’s official student-run television station. Ayah also worked as a Production Assistant at Quinnipiac Productions, where she helped edit multimedia projects for Quinnipiac’s website and social media platforms.
During her senior year at Quinnipiac, Ayah interned at WTNH, where she wrote stories for the News 8 website, assisted the assignment desk and shadowed reporters and producers.
Ayah previously served as the Web Director of Q30 Television and frequently reported and anchored for Q30 newscasts. During the summer of 2016, Ayah interned with Talk Media News at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
